Northwest Arkansas Rabbit Breeders Association

by Lindsey on 12/12/17

Hey Everyone!

So last post I mentioned I would have some exciting announcements, and now I'm going to uncover one of them!  This announcement is mostly just for those of you who are local to Northwest Arkansas, but to all of my far away readers don't you worry the next announcement is for you!

If you have raised rabbits in NW Arkansas for very long you may have realized we have no American Rabbit Breeders Association affiliated clubs or shows.  This can be discouraging for those of us who are raising purebred rabbits and are eager to get them on the show table, because we have to travel a long ways for shows and don't have a lot of ways to connect with local breeders.  For the last 6 months I have been working along side fellow rabbit breeders in NW Arkansas to make a club possible.  We now officially have our charter and will be accepting new members in 2018!  If you breed, show, own, or are even just interested in purebred rabbits we would love to have you join!  Please like our Facebook page for more information, and if you are interested in joining please message us!

Thanks for reading!  I hope to see some new faces in the club soon!

by Lindsey on 12/07/17

Hi Everyone!
I been really busy the past few days, but wanted to stop in tonight and give y'all an update!  Especially about the show last weekend!  We attended the Missouri State RPA Convention in Sedalia, Missouri.  Usually we don't attend the Sedalia shows because they are pretty far to travel, but we try to at least make it to the December Convention each year.  I had a great time, getting to connect with other breeders, writing for judges, and most of all showing my rabbits!  We were entered in the Dutch Specialty show Friday night, Show A on Saturday, and Show B on Sunday, and this is what we won:

Thanksgiving Bunnies

by Lindsey on 11/24/17

Hi Everyone!
I hope you and your rabbits had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
While I have no new litters, and we have had several miscarriages / still births from sister Beveren does Mount Whitney and Beverly Hills, I still have quite a few bunnies to be thankful for!  And before we moved on to Christmas I wanted to do one last fall photo shoot to share with y'all.  So I gathered all the bunnies and took lots pictures to capture the adorableness :)
Before I took pictures Ambrosia's little twin does thought it would be best if they washed their faces.
Such pretty little girls.
And here are Junie's babies.  They don't like getting their picture taken very much, but they very sweet and show quality.  Only one of the six is spoken for and they will be ready to go on November 29.  Please let me know if you are interested!

Here are Snowstorm's babies.  They are 2 weeks old and just opened their eyes.  At this age their light blue eyes are pretty sensitive to the sun, so they are closing them in the pictures.
This picture gives you a good look at the curly baby.
I hope you enjoyed these cute little bunnies!  And thank you very much for reading!  It means a lot to me!  By the way, if you look forward to reading these posts and check my blog often for new ones let me know in the comments!  I would love to know that you enjoy my bunny blog!

Babies!

by Lindsey on 11/20/17

Hi y'all,
It has been longer than it should be since I last posted, but here I am now to give you an update!  First of all I didn't end up going to the shows in Stillwater, OK. but we will be in Sedalia, MO. December 1st-3rd for sure!  And we have babies!
I have been having a little bit of trouble breeding the Beverens this year.  But I did get a litter of 4 out of T.H Snowstorm (CW144) and T.H Dynamite (FS162).  They were a little bit of a surprise as I didn't think she took, but I am happy to have them!
If you look close you might be able to notice the second kit from the top has fur a little different from the rest.  I have my first curly Beveren.  It is not ideal and I will be trying to cull this trait out of my herd, but I am a little curious to watch it as it matures.
H.O.B Jewel (HBK104) had her litter of 2 whites and 5 blues.  That is a lot of babies for a doe as young as her, but so far she is doing awesome with them!  As you may have seen from previous posts this was an unplanned litter with W.W.W Hubert (3W16).
So those are the litters we have now.  B.N Beverly Hills is pulling fur for her first litter as I type this, so hopefully we have a nest full of happy healthy Beveren babies by morning!
And I thought I should share with y'all some updated pictures of our silly 5 week old bunnies. They don't hold still for pictures at all, but they are still adorable!
Junie and her babies enjoying lunch
Ambrosia's babies and foster baby being silly.
I hope you enjoyed the baby pictures!  Thanks for reading and come back soon!

Random Rabbit Update

by Lindsey on 11/08/17

Hi Everyone!
I hope you've had a great day!  I'm just going to take a quick moment to let y'all know a few things that are going on here at the rabbitry.  First of all you may have noticed the number of rabbits on our Palomino page dropping.  We are going to be focusing on mainly Americans and Beverens in the future so I have made the difficult decision to reduce our Palomino herd to one pair (DCB Scratchy and ORF Kyle).   If you are interested in Palomino kits let me know we will probably only breed if there is interest.
Also, last minuet decision to attend the Stillwater, OK shows this Saturday.  I wasn't planning on going, but decided to last night so if you are there and have any questions on rare breeds or want to meet the rabbits we'll be there!
Have a great night and thanks for reading!
